11th Zushi Coast Film Festival
Dates: Thursday, April 28, 2022 - Sunday, May 8, 2022
We exhibited the "OMNI Microplastics" project video by DLX Designlab, University of Tokyo. This project is something I have been working on for about three years as a member of DLX Designlab, and is an effort to understand the microplastic problem and think of creative solutions together with local residents.
Just the other day, the "Children's Researcher" project (an activity to sample microplastics and conduct independent research with children in Zushi), which was part of this project, ended in March. The OMNI project has been supported by the Nippon Foundation for another three years from this year. In the future, we plan to think about not only microplastics but also marine debris in general with local residents and develop new initiatives.
In addition, we have signed an agreement with Zushi City from this year, and will proceed as an official research project with the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo.
The exhibition was introduced as part of the project video reel in the environmental project booth on the right side of the festival entrance.
The Zushi Beach Film Festival is a popular event where you can experience movies and live music while enjoying food and drinks on the beach. It was a large-scale exhibition that attracted about 10,000 visitors during the event.
